Tenant in Rehab
My first post, wish it was for a different reason.
Basic question is what do I do with a tenant that has checked themselves into rehab for a meth addiction?
Background: Two male, platonic roommates moved in on January 1. Let's call them Al and Bryan. Bryan notifies me a few weeks later that he's lost his job and is moving out of town. Al wants to stay and looks for a new roommate on craigslist. He finds Charlie who checks out well with Credit/criminal/background checks. So Charlie moves in and no issues. Al emails me last night and says Charlie checked into rehab and told him that he would move out as he's going to live in a halfway house. Al says he had no knowledge of any drugs until Charlie told him he was in rehab.
So do I attempt to reach out to Charlie and confirm the story and ask if he or friends/family are able to move out?
Do I have to wait for Charlie to approach me?
Just call a lawyer?
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
