My Dad asked me to post his question:

He has a newer tenant in a 3-plex. One of the existing tenants has informed him that he suspects the new tenant of dealing drugs. The existing tenant witnessed a transaction take place out front of the building.

Those are all the details I have.

Should he confront the new tenant? Should he encourage the existing tenant to call the police/gather more/better evidence?

Another course of action?

I'll share all of your responses with him.

@Max T.   I would suggest telling the tenant to notify law enforcement if they see a crime being committed.

Unless he wants to get shot, I would not suggest confronting anyone he believes might be committing a felony.
