Drastic Utility Billings offer lease release?
Hey guys,
I'm just curious what everyone thinks. The County where I live recently changed the Electric billings from every 2 months to monthly.
However, they are only reading the meter once every 2 months still. And then using an "estimate" based on last year's usage for the 2nd month. A large number of people's monthly bills are now just as much if not more than their 2 month bills now- and the company refuses to change to system or explain how that math works out. (Town meetings, petitions ect)
So...if a family of 10 lived in your house last year. Too bad that's what you pay. It's caused a LOT of people's bills to double or triple. Many people can not afford to stay in their houses.
If you owned a property in this situation and your renter wanted to move out early would you allow this as a cause to break the lease without penalty?
