Is a liscence needed to manage a multi family home

I'm closing on an eight plex multi family home and I was planning to manage the property myself but im finding out that I need a liscence to do so. Is this true and if so do I need this before closing?

I don't believe that you need a license to manage your own property.

You would definitely need a license to manage someone else's property.
