Having properties under LLC for security reasons

Hi All - A general question on having LLC.
I am planning to add my properties into LLC not as for Accounting reasons but more like having added security b/w myself and tenant(s). Is this a good valid reason? Should I be worried about about this?

Having LLC with P.O Box allow me to have a buffer, specially since I'll be starting investing in rough/Shady area of the town and don't want someone to know where I live. Who knows someone might show-up at my door (for any reason).

Even though computer savvy(internet browser) person can still find out my address, but knowing that I am investing in shady area not that many folks will have that kind of skill-set.

Question is – Does investor do that, is this a good idea?

Any thoughts?
