Closed on home and utilities
It's been a few days since we close and so far, I haven't moved utilities like gas, electric,w ater over to my name and it's still in the seller's name. Everything remains on so I guess the seller didn't do anything either. Does that mean they'll be on the hook for the bill or it's attached to the home anyways so if that bill goes unpaid, the home is at risk of losing power if not paid? If the power stays on, can I simply continue this way and simply move over 1-2 months from now? The honest thing would be to move utilities immediately but the seller refused us a walk through (he just said I can walk out of the deal if I want but he has no time for a walkthrough) and I figure why - excessive humidity in the basement which he cleaned up quite well at the original showings. My attorney says nothing can be done now (about 2-3k expense to clean this up and not much more)
Thanks
