Just curious about carpet recommendations to replace carpet in a house that rents for $1900 a month. I have gotten recommendations of 20 oz, 26 oz, 32 oz and am a little confused. All are brand name name shaw or Mohawk. I had one person offer me a smart Mohawk product that you can bleach but it is almost 3 times the price. I had one person try to sell me

Thanks Al for the clarification, I never use that type of floor before but i'll try it out next chance. How do you compare it to laminate. I know that laminate has issue with water, and if one piece in the middle has to be replaced, we need to take half a floor out just to replace it. On the other hand, laminate gives a good look and good feeling walking over it.

For the carpet, there's a local guy installing carpet at low price. However his carpet lasts only around 3-5 years. On the other hand, I see carpet that builder installed in houses I bought last over 10 years. So I was thinking next time I could buy carpet from Home depot and use their installation service to see how long it lasts.
