Landlord / Identity Theft - Out of Country Scammer Stole Our Rental Listing from Zillow

So we had a listing on Zillow and a con-artist from out of the country.  They took all the photos of the listing as well as details about the property. Except they changed one major thing---the price

The property is a house that rents for $3800/mo and he listed his for $1400/mo.

I actually pretended to be a tenant and tried contacting him.  I got him on the line and he prescreened me just like any landlord would.  He then asked for my email told me to, "feel free to drive by the property and check it out any time you want."

He then requested a $1000 hold deposit to hold the deal (and such a great deal it is!~lol)

Anyways does anyone have suggestions on where I can report something like this.  I called the local police and they basically said they can only help victims after they have been scammed out of money.

Either way let this be a warning to others.

Happens all the time.  I have it happen once or twice a year to me.  You can report the listing to zillow and they'll remove it within 24 hours.  It's really annoying because I end up getting people that drive by and then call the number on the sign and end up really irate when they find out the price is much higher and start accusing us of bait and switch tactics.

At the very bottom of the listing there is a link that says "Report problem with listing"  Click that and select Fraudulent Listing.
