Buildium Price change
@Ruben Dominguez
So I missed the boat on the Buildium price increase and they must be a sponsor of Bigger Pockets because a prior thread, "Buildium ups prices over 50% for little-guys" was shut down by an administrator. Thanks for the original post @Ruben Dominguez. I signed up and paid for a year with buildium but did not get set up right away. I went in today to set up electronic payments, add my other properties...do what I should have done in May when I signed up. Well....sorta glad i did not do it then because now i still have an easy out. I have emailed tickets to buildium support and the first response was laughable, but polite. Because I want to pick a system and be done, I am not back into shopping mode because I dont want to use whats left of my prepaid year with buildium only to have everything worked out and switch next year.
If I lose my prepaid year, so be it. I want to sign up with someone I like that is not so quick to shaft me. Who knows, maybe I decide to stick with Buildium. Point is, I am shopping again to decide if I stay or go. I am like most small timers and have less than 10 properties. Why they decided to go up to 40 units or less instead of just a simple increase of $5/month or so for the same plan is beyond me.
Ok....has anyone switched or planned on switching due to this? I understand if you are upwards of 15 properties, the impact is negligible. I am talking to small timers. If you are at least seriously considering switching, where are you going? Is there an option for a tenant portal, doc uploads, web presence, online payments but maybe seperate accounting? Am I stupid for getting this worked up over $180/year? Should I just take it on the chin, thank them and ask for more?
There is a relative newbie I just came across...RentPost. They will upgrade the basic package to allow online payment for another $10/month....basically $20/month total for up to 10 properties. there are some features lacking they are working on but they seem to have the bases covered for a small timer like me.
Thoughts?
