Renting to someone with a vicious dog breed

Hello

I am currently screening tenants for a rental property I own that comes up for rent beginning of next month. I have one tenant that has a Rottweiler puppy. The dog is nice and going through obedience school.

What is you thoughts with people with blacklisted dog breeds in your rentals? I was going to charge a nonrefundable pet deposit and require them to have renters insurance.

What happens if the dog does grow up to be a bit temper mental? Will his renters insurance cover everything? I want everyone to be safe and wouldn't rent if I thought the dog was vicious. But don't know enough about the breed to say?

My brother has 2 pit bulls and they are the nicest dogs Ive met. They could never find a place to rent because he has 2 pits.

Up for any thoughts on the topic. My uncle knows the guy with the Rottweiler personally
