Washer died. Replace or repair.

A 9 y.o. Whirpool washer just died in the rental unit. My first reaction was to replace it with new (for no more than $500, some basic washer). But then I thought of fixing it - but since I never dealt with fixing, I don't know how repairmen charge for their services - I assume it's a fixed charge of ($60-$90/hr) plus parts. So I might be on the hook for $150 to get this one running again.

But then again - how long will it last?...

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks

almost nobody is going to show up at a property for under $100. Replace it. Check Craigs list for a used one.
