Possible to send a 30 day notice with eviction pending

Good morning. I have an eviction pending for non payment of rent. Court is on 10/2. There has been a lot more issues popping up with these folks. Drug use and domestic issues. They are on a month to month lease. In Virginia. Can I send a 30 day lease termination letter just in case the eviction fails and I'll have another way of getting them out.

Update. Tenants actually moved out the day before court and never showed up . Judge awarded me the judgment and I got my house back, minimal damage. I'm pleased. Thanks for all the advice.
