1st timer with evictions (Texas)

Hello BP crew!

I've given my tenant several chances and I'm ready to take the next steps.  I stated rent is due on the 1st-3rd of each month.  I sated late fees will accrue starting the 4th of the month and thereafter.  It is now the 5th and no payment made.

Please help with details and less painful route in starting the eviction process.  And also any recommendations on legal counsel if having to file suit.

Thank you!

You can give a 3 day notice to vacate while you find an attorney to handle the eviction. You need to send it in the mail certified so that they sign for it. I usually send it regular mail also. Post it on their door also. Check with your attorney for all the details. There are lots of little things that you can do wrong, so dont rely on what people on here tell you that you should do.

It is a fairly quick process in Texas. I dont know any attorneys in the Victoria area so I cant help with that. I have been through it numerous times with and without an attorney depending on the tenant.
