"resident score" vs "credit score"

Lee Lawson
Posted

Please give me your thoughts on "resident score" vs "credit score". I have previously used credit score ( must be over 700) but now see that some verification services use the resident score without giving the actual credit score.  I feel uneasy about not having the actual credit score. Can anyone let me  know their experiences/ thoughts/ suggestions about going with the "resident score"? Is this reliable..comparable..better????? Thanks

The resident score is supposed to provide a better predictor of your rental outcomes, as opposed to the credit score. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

If there is still concern, you could ask for referrals from their last two property managers / landlords! That is my favorite technique to get the information you are really looking for.
