Termites in Phoenix AZ area

My tenant is saying termites have chewed a hole in the drywall in a bedroom. My property manager called a company and they want $6/sq.ft to treat for termites. The property is 1254 sq.ft, so that would cost over $5000!!! I am in shock. I have never heard treatment costing even a tenth that much.

Feedback and help to solve this for less money appreciated.
