Squatters cause $40,000 in damages
https://www.foxnews.com/media/...
The squatter protections are out of control, and squatters know it. This particular case happens to be in Florida.
NOTE: do not be like this Landlord and confront the squatters unless you are prepared to defend yourself. I'm really suprised this Landlord wasn't assaulted.

If they can drill out the lock and go in with no reprocussions then I would wait till they leave and drill out their lock and Hire armed security to camp out in the house.
If the police show up we already know they can't do anything and I could show I'm the owner. Then I'd get a no tresspass order against them.
