Tenant Applicants Say the Darndest Things...

What ever happened to that thread?  I really enjoyed reading it.  Anyways, here's one in that same spirit.  Other than redaction, emails are cut/pasted verbatim.

MY AD:   $850 / 1BR Eat-in kitchen, large enclosed porch - 750 sq. ft.

EMAIL INQUIRY:

My name is Cristina, and I’m interested in viewing your spa for rent. The space would be for myself and my 50 of dog. His name is Sam is is a griffon terrier mix. House broken, 8 years old, and no aggressive breeds in him.

Before taxes I make about $900 a month.

I have excellent rental references.

My ideal date to move in would be Aug. 1.22

Thank you!

Cristina

MY RESPONSE:

Thank you for your interest. As the ad states, we have a base verifiable minimum income requirement to qualify for this unit (more than 4 times monthly rent); unfortunately, based on your email it appears you do not meet those qualifications.

Good luck in your search,

Wesley

HER EMAIL RESPONSE:

You’re insane.

Your apartment is 850 a month and I make 900 a week. People who make more than that do not live in (CITY NAME, spelled incorrectly). But also, if you do the math that is more than what you require. Obviously you are not well versed with people and live in a black in white world. This is not defensive, it’s being honest to people that need to learn how the world works.

GOOD LUCK WESLEY!

(I think I could hear the sound of a mic dropping afterwards…)
