Recommendations for home warranty/alternative ideas for repairs?
Hey BP investors! I have a 40 year old duplex in Austin with original plumbing, hvac and AC systems and I'm looking into buying a home warranty to cover eventual repairs. I also have issues with existing washer which needs replacement so I'm wondering if its a good idea to pay for the ~700 annual home warranty since that's how much I will spend on a new washer anyway. However, most reviews for home warranty on bigger pockets are negative. Are there alternative ideas for covering constant mechanical repairs? For instance, I had to spend $1500 for AC coolant replacement recently for one of the AC units at this duplex!
