How long do you give an applicant to review & sign a new lease?
Is there a standard for this?

If you are looking for May 1, give them 24-48 hours to decide. Then meet them to get the deposit and sign the lease. Tell them the deposit is non-refundable (or at least a large portion) if they change their mind, otherwise it converts to their security deposit when they move in.
