Renting An In-Law Suite

Ryan Yoos
Posted

Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I are looking at our first multifamily home in either, the Baltimore City/Baltimore County areas.  We have come across single family homes with in-law suites and we're still educating ourselves on them.  My question is, is it legal to rent an in-law suite as a separate unit from the rest of the house if we were to move from that house at a later date?

Thank you,

Ryan

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your response.  We have been working with a realtor as well.  There are definitely a lot of options with the in-law suite, I just want to make sure rental income can be maximized once we move on to another home.  I've realized however, the more we learn, the more we need to learn.  I certainly appreciate your insight!
