Recent HVAC Replacement Costs

Joe Mark
Posted

Upstairs AC not working.  Have been told furnace circuit board needs to be replaced $700

but 2 AC Rheem units are 23 years old so HVAC suggested replacing both units.

Not sure if I should try the $700 fix or go for the 2 new units.

Has anyone priced 2 ton 14 seer units recently?

It's for a rental SFH 2800 sq ft. in Alpharetta.

Also looking for HVAC to get quotes for purchase and install.

I don’t know how much you save by buying smaller units. (I’ve never seen a unit under 3 tons here in vegas.) I bought a paid of 3 tons 2 years ago fir $7,000. Last year I got a 3 & a 3.5 ton for $8,000. (Like your situation they were 22 years old.) I replace anything over 15 years old that needs more than caps. I’ve been hosed too many times with the $500-$800 repair that doesn’t last a month.
