VA Newbie in need of reutable private lender to fund deals!

I am new to Flipping houses, and of course I have done a lot of research on various types of lending. I found a private lender online, emailed the individual, completed application, signed agreements and a contract contingent on me sending money for PPI insurance before he funded the loan. I have done my homework, background checks, checked license thru the state of NV, etc. I felt uneasy about the upfront money and am not giving my funds away to get a loan! If anyone has any private lender names in which you have done business with, please email me so I can contact someone who knows what they are doing.

Thank-you!
