Dc is fraught with fraud and mostly from politicians but if you read the stuff this management company was allegedly doing it’s flat out discriminating against people and left a trail of crumbs via email internally to substantiate their claims.
@Russell Brazil probably is familiar with this

What are some examples of the most extreme stuff they were doing?

Yeah this is old news. This happened under DCs previous attorney general. They violated the DC Human Rights Act pretty blatantly. Discrimination against voucher holders is one of the most common fair housing violations in DC.
The funny part is during this period of time section 8 paid substantially higher rents in much of the city. An example is I have a rental that was getting $5500 from section 8 then that had a market value of $3800. Smart investors in DC wanted section 8.

There are some pretty wild protected classes on that thing... Too woke for me and most normal human beings.

As both a landlord and an employer who screens potential tenants and potential employees, the 7 "protections" below are absolutely ridiculous.
Protected Traits for Housing, Employment, Public Accommodations and Educational Institutions include:
6. Age: 18 years or older.
8. Personal appearance: outward appearance, but is subject to business requirements or standards.
12. Political affiliation: belonging to or supporting a political party.
14. Matriculation (applies to housing, employment and public accommodations): being enrolled in a college, university or some type of secondary school.
16. Source of Income (applies to housing, public accommodations and educational institutions): origination of a person’s finances.
18. Place of Residence or Business (applies to housing and public accommodations): geographical location of home or work.
20. Credit Information (applies to employment): any written, verbal or other communication of information bearing on an employee’s creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity or credit history.
Yes! Housing, really, any form of discrimination is not just bad, but illegal, and unethical, and has been for quite some time. Speaking of, it's been time to come out from under that rock dwelling.

Are you only speaking of protected classes now? Before you said discrimination of any kind is wrong. What is and is not protected is often in flux. There are a lot of liberal cities that are adding criminal history to protected classes. So to answer your question, yes in some instances child molesters are a protected class.

The answer to, "Who's deflecting" lies in whose civil rights were violated by said organization, guy. We know they qualified for Section 8 and likely below median income if not at, or below poverty level, and thereby at risk of homelessness but, were they a child molester? And if yes, is that why they were denied shelter?

But, to answer your question, even convicted criminals need shelter. Sometimes, not always, that means prison. But it shouldn't have to be under the bridge once their sentence is served. Let me guess. That's so Woke.

That also aside, all your sensationalist ire with who you broadly label as deadbeat tenants obscures the fact, not only is it a highly reliable income source for something like 2 million families nationwide, which includes seniors and the disabled but, investors too! https://www.bankrate.com/insurance/homeowners-insurance/sect...
Looking at the Cleveland market where the median price is $109k and HUD will pay up to $1,527 for a four bedroom, that's a 1.4% rent to sales price ratio which, I'm sure you know, or should know, is nothing to shake a stick or sneeze at so tell me, what's up with that, bro?
