Career/Internship/Mentorship Opportunities for Ambitious New Graduate

Hi everyone,

I have just recently discovered the BiggerPockets community and am really excited to continue exploring the community and its incredible amount of resources! I just graduated from university this spring, and since then have been on the hunt for career and internship opportunities in the world of real estate finance. While I've been using the typical avenues to look for work (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc), I figured I'd also place my efforts into directly outreaching and give it a go here on BP to see if there were any connections to be made.

I'm still very new to this industry, and have been consuming content nonstop on commercial underwriting, cash flow modeling, waterfall structures, and the like. I've also purchased a few courses to better learn how to be an analyst in this field, but would really love the opportunity to be able to meet with someone already in the industry to learn firsthand about the underwriting process for commercial properties. I'm Excel certified, have learned how to create cash flow models from scratch and am still familiarizing myself with complex pro forma models. I've previously done an internship in asset management for residential buildings (which is what exposed me to real estate finance) and really enjoyed my time there. I was curious if there were any members in the New York City metro area willing to take on someone like myself and offer either mentorship or internship opportunities so that I may be able to learn more and hopefully begin my career soon.

If anyone is interested, please don't hesitate to reach out! I am open to any and all opportunities.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read! I really appreciate it :)
