Property Tax Appeals
What have you found to be the best ammo when trying to appeal property taxes on a multi-unit building? I have an 11 unit building in Beaufort County NC that is valued at $800k. There are no similar upgraded apt buildings like this in the area so can't really find comps. I used similar sized buildings that have been converted to Bed and Breakfasts - there are 3 similar properties that have values of $500k to $550k. They are valuing the property at the purchase price $800k. I see on the tax records for this county that there have been several properties that have had taxes reduced. Any ideas or info on your experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
