Which to use QBO or QBD?

I’m currently using QBO but in discussions with a colleague it was recommended that I get QBD for the enhanced functionality. My question is whether the desktop version really has more functionality to manage my various businesses or is it just that my colleague is more familiar with it?

I appreciate the feedback.
