Switching to multi member LLC

My accountant told me to switch from a single to multi member llc for beneficial tax purposes. I was planning on adding my wife. The problem we have now, is we are applying for a mortgage in her name only. The one property in the llc shows significant losses, which would put her debt/income in an unsafe area for being pre approved. Question is, if I add someone else (brother or in laws possibly) would they have to file a separate return as well for the llc?

@Joe Wood

Generally speaking a multi-member LLC (MMLLC) files a partnership return by default and issues Schedule K-1 to each member, which they then use to report their share of partnership income on their own tax return.

"My accountant told me to switch from a single to multi member llc for beneficial tax purposes."

Can you expand on that?
