rental property receipts - tax dudctions

I believe I may have created a newbie error for by NOT having all my home repair receipts have my rental property address listed on them. Many receipts provided either have no address or they used my home address instead. Is this going to cause an issue for me when it comes to deducting these expenses? Normally I'd consider myself savvy when it comes to record keeping but believe I made a huge oversight. Any insight would be greatly appreciated as my CPA is on vacation. Thank you in advance!

Yeah, in the future, make sure this detail is correct from the get-go. Don't have your contractors putting your home address on your rental property invoices.

Also, try starting out with a simple spreadsheet in Excel or Google Docs. New document for each year. I have various tabs to categorize expenses. Repairs, improvements, legal costs, misc, utilities, taxes, insurance, advertising, interest payments, etc.

In each tab for each category, I have about 6 columns. One for the date, one for the item (expense itself such as "Home Depot"), one for address of property, one for notes where I might put more description of the items bought, one for cost, and one for total (which adds up each line as you input data).
