Memphis TN Property Reappraisal Notices
Not sure if anyone has put this out yet but if you own property in Memphis TN you are probably receiving the assessor reappraisal notices now. You can file an online informal review by going to the Shelby County Tax Assessors website. Once on the home page click on 2017 Online Informal Review in the middle if the home page. Once you are directed there simply follow the instructions. If you are able to find comps in and around your home, check Zillow for comparable or get them wherever you can. There is no guarantee this will work but it is free and the first place to start.
Most investors who own homes, even with the increase are still most likely paying taxes on a lower appraised value then actual current market value.
If your review value does not change or is not lowered to where you believe it should you could always hire someone to try and help get it lowered even more.
Good luck !!

Hi, @Elizabeth Wilson.
An official appraisal or BPO would definitely help and so would comps from a service like MAARdata or Chandler. However, I don't think the Assessor's office would give any credence to a zestimate.
That said, the more data a property owner can find to support a lower valuation (including photos of the property and the surrounding houses), the better.
