Hi Everyone,

I am looking to open a self-directed IRA account(checkbook facility) and would love to get some candid feedback on who are some of the good custodians out there, that are flexible and have reasonable fees... Would really appreciate as much feedback as I can possibly get. Thank you

Just to add to this thread for folks searching;  We left Equity Trust for Advanta, retitling some 10 rentals.  It was worth it.  Equity Trust may work for folks with few transactions per month, notes, simple things.  But not for owning and managing rentals.   Lost rent checks, late deposited rent checks, 3 weeks to get a check to pay a contractor.

If you own rentals in a tax defered account you have to have a check book control account. Further I go on and recommend you move to a solo 401k to hold your tax defered rentals if you have any kind of for profit business. Google solo 401k vs SD-IRA if you like.
