Help had investor completely lie to us when we bought property

So we bought a property in Cahokia, IL. It was our first deal and we were so excited. The investor said it was completely remodeled and had a tenant in there under property management. The place turns out is not up to code, the tenant was never screened, and there's no occupancy permit. What legal actions can we pursue? He blatantly lied in all communications about the place.

Replied

Did you have a Realtor who helped you buy or did the seller have a Realtor represent them?

Did you not do a home inspection?  Seems like code issues might have been found.  Make sure you review any email chains with the seller as well as what is stated in the purchase contract just to make sure you even have a case.

Good luck
