Working with IRA Investors

To those that have experience using their IRA to invest in real estate, did you use a real estate agent to facilitate the transaction? If so, what were your takeaways? Was there anything that the agent did/didn't do that would have made the transaction run a bit smoother?

For the agents out there that have worked with this type of financing...what are some things I need to be aware of? Are there any good resources for an agent looking to work with this type of investor?

Thanks in advance!

Phillip, I have done numerous transactions in my SDIRA buying RE for fix and flip but mainly buying non-performing notes which is sometimes a challenge for some companies but I have not had any problems as a matter of fact I am getting ready to purchase another one. You do not need a Realtor. You will need to set up an LLC and identify a good custodian. If you are not experienced I would recommend staying away from one where you are able to write your own checks, you could get yourself in trouble, leave all the laws and regulations up to the professionals in their field. Hope that helps
