Contract addendum to assign buyer

Hi All-

Working a FSBO, I signed a contract with the buyer as "My Name or assigns". My escrow officer is asking for an addendum substituting my partner as the buyer. Anyone know what that form would be called, or point me in the direction of what that looks like exactly?

I thought it strange it's required at all (since I thought I had the right to assign without the sellers agreement by definition) but here we are.

Seems simple enough that I'd like to save the call to the attorney on this one.  Let me know if you can point me towards something that captures the intent here.

thanks

john

The escrow officer needs an assignment agreement.  That what assigns means.....that you can assign your contract to someone else.  I'll send you something in a few minutes.
