Question on a checkbook/self directed IRA?

I recently opened a checkbook ira also known as a self directed ira. I opened a LLC and there is a custodian as well. I will be funding it with money from a retirement 401k. I plan on lending and maybe buy and hold a few properties. My question, is this all I need to do business? I know I need a borrower, RE agents ect. Thats not what I'm talking about. I'm just interested in the being able to do business side. Thanks Hugo.
