Kyle,

I think you hit the nail on the head. We as Americans are blessed with having so much we don't even know it. The so called poor in this country are better off than most of the world. I don't think it's stupid to work hard and get ahead, If that were the case I'm a major idiot. I'm not going to go into detail but I worked two jobs and my wife also worked full time. We lived within or below our means. Now we are both retired and and doing very well financialy. We both came from parents that immigrated to this country and worked at factories. I had no S8, as a matter of fact I had lived in 16 different homes by the time I graduated from highschool. I'm not smarter than your average person, but I did tell myself at a young age that I was going to work hard and get ahead in life. This will be my last reply on this post, but I will leave with this. Donald Trump does not owe me a plane, Bill Gates does not owe me a yacht, so I don't owe anyone a free ride!!!!!!!!!!!

If the team wants to give Kobe millions that's their business. I don't blame Kobe or any other player for what ever contract they get. The problem is the fans, they worship players and will pay money they don't have to go see them play, dress like them, buy their shoes etc.... If the fans that don't like the cost of tickets, jersies, etc. had an once of testicular fortitude they would stay at home. I garantee you the prices would drop. It's amazing how many people are lead around like mindless cattle by movie stars or athletes. Regardless of what sport we use as an analogy, the whole team needs to play by the same rules, at least show up and sit on the bench. In the real world some players want to stay home, watch tv, do drugs and still get trophy.

Kyle,

I think you misunderstood my point. I did not point out that agree or disagree with with section 8 or any other government handout plan. I simply made a point that poeple have different perspectives on what is right and wrong. Some poeple consider anything that puts money in their pocket or that promotes thier lifestyle the correct thing regargless of who has to pay for it. And yes we are all part of a team, but the third string kicker does not get the same as the starting QB. I wonder what would happen to sports if you took the top players salaries and gave them to the water boys?????. Better yet lets split the players salary with the peanut and hot dog venders, after all it's not their fault that they are not the starting QB!!!!!!!!!

The minute I first saw this post I new it was going to be interesting to say the least. I have enjoyed reading the posts over the last several days. It feels the the political equivalent of the Okay Corral. I find myself agreeing with some of you and thinking that the rest of you are IDIOTS. It's incredible how some topics have that effect on poeple, specially when they are political. I'm not going to say which side Im on because it won't make a difference. The one's who think like me will agree with me, and the others would rather die that see it any other way. Can anyone tell me what was the original post about?

Jon K. I agree with you 200%. The nunber of people leeching off the system is growing at an alarming rate. It's not just S8, it's food stamps, medi-aid etc... Way to many people are milking the system istead of working. On top of that many of them have nicer cars, jewelry, tv's and many other things than we do. They need to have an attitude of thanks and humility.

I agree that there should be programs to help people to get out of the poverty cycle. The problem is that that the numbers are growing instead of getting lower. The program I find that works best is to go to school/college, work hard, and live within your means. It's worked for me and many others.

The previous money lender this guy had was getting 5 points and a 38k return on a 35k loan for a max of 6 months. The borrower pays back the 38k even if the property sells in 2 months. I did the math. 5 points up front plus 3k interest on the 35k. Even if the borrower takes the full 6 months, that equals 27.14%. That's not what I'm after, but with some of my investments making 1.85%, I need to diversify a little bit. I would be very happy if I could do 10 to 12. Thanks for all the info.

Thanks for the info. guys. I will be in first position on both loans. the first one has already been purchased as a foreclosure for 120k and the new owner wants to borrow 70k to buy other properties while this one sells. It is listed for 190k. The second deal is a 2/2 townhouse foreclosure that they want 60k. the properties like it in the same developement are approx. 180k.

I have two money lending deals that have come my way. The first one is a SFR that they want to borrow 70k for 6 months on and is worth 190K based on comps. The second in 60k for one year to purchase a 120 foreclosure. What would be an average/fair % I should charge on these? Thanks Hugo.

After doing some search and research I'm investing in my first trust deed note. 50% LTV and it pays 9% monthly for 60 months. Approx. investment 50k. The bad thing is that the home owner can pay me off before the sixty months and I will have to look for another investment. Does anyone have any investments in trust deed notes, and what returns are you getting? Thanks Hugo.
