Investing in syndications using an LLC

I am living overseas (in Japan) and I would like to invest as an LP in multifamily syndications using an LLC in the US in order to avoid paying taxes to the Japanese government on distributions from said syndications. Does anyone know what steps I should take in order to do this? Thanks in advance!
