Steps to Obtain Business Credit Cards that do not report to personal
I am setting up a new holding company which will manage two established LLCs. Here are the steps I am taking to get business credit.
Create LLC, file with Secretary of State. Get EIN number from IRS. Go to SIC codes and find the code for buy and hold. Open business email account, get business mailing address. I used Anytime Mailbox to set this up. I set up a business domain at Google Workspace.
Go to Dun & Bradstreet, and apply for a DUNS number. I submitted my Certificate of Formation and EIN to Dun & Bradstreet, used the address from Anytime Mailbox, the business email and my phone number to start the process.
These banks will not report negative information on my personal credit, and use my business credit:
Citi Business
FNBO
PNC
Randolph Brooks FCU
Synchrony
I have Sam's Club Business MC, Chase Ink that do not report to my personal credit. Also have TD Bank business and CapitalOne that DO report on my personal credit. What business banking do you use? Most Popular Reply

@Kerry Baird I have or have had Chase Ink, United and Southwest business cards, Citi business, and AMEX Marriott business. None of them report to my personal credit.
Side note, I didn't have to do any of these steps you mentioned. Just an application with my SSN and income on my business (rental income).
Citi and AMEX both gave instant approvals. Chase generally makes me call in and give some details on the rental properties (how many, expected income and expenses, purpose of requesting another credit card). Typically they then approve me while on the phone.
Hope that helps,
- Tom
