HELOC for property with Deed in LLC

Hello,

I have a paid for rental that I purchased for $80,000 cash in 2016. After purchase I transferred the Deed to my LLC.

I only asked one lender (I believe it was USAA) last year about a HELOC on the property and they said they could not not help since the deed had my LLC on it. They also said the loan would have to go commercial. Now that I think about it, I am not sure if they gave me the most accurate information pertaining my situation. Looking to see if anyone has ever been in the same situation.
