Lending through self directed IRA

Hi,

I want to start doing some private lending through a self directed IRA account to take advantage of the tax deferred benefit of a retirement account. Does anyone know any private lending companies that allow lending via an IRA? I'm not an accredited investor yet.

Thank you!

@Sara W. you do not need to be an "accredited investor" in order to lend via an SDIRA.  Also, I would not recommend a check book Ira to someone just staring out and learning the ropes of SDIRA investing, there are too many regulations for you to follow on your own. A "custodian" account provider like equity trust will put your paper work through the paces of examination so as to not trip up the SDIRA. However, No custodian vets the merits of the actual investment. Most custodians have a tremendous amount of education material n their websites.
