Debt Coverage Ratio (DCR)

I am vaguely familiar with this term, though it has never really come into play in any of my deals until recently.

Can somone please give a quick overview of what the DCR actually is used for and what percent a bank is looking for (obviously lower is better, maybe providing us with the max may be more helpful).
