VA Loan while stationed overseas

Account Closed
Posted

VA Loan is an awesome tool for military to utilize, except there doesn't seem to be a way to use it if stationed overseas (Been overseas 8 years and looking at 3 more years).

"homebuyers have 60 days from closing to occupy a home purchased with a VA loan. However, the VA does allow homebuyers in certain situations to go beyond the 60-day mark, potentially extending up to one year."

Exceptions being repairs, deployment if previously lived there, spouse or child living in it instead.

Has anyone figured out how to get around, or get the VA to waive the occupancy rules while overseas or know anyone who has?

This give you time to save even more money so when you come back stateside you can purchase a primary residence with a VA loan and purchase an investment property.

Real estate investing is a long game. Create a great strategy and execute when the time comes.

I wish you all the best.
