Private Money Lending Debt Payment

Hello amazing people!

I don't know exactly how to structure a deal with private money lender. I know it can either be in a form of debt or equity. I understand how the equity side works, but if I'm borrowing money in a form of debt, how do I actually pay that person? For example, if a friend of mine will be my private money lender and I borrow 10k for the gap funds, how do I re-pay my friend? I know there are different ways to structure a deal but how do you do it for your deals? Also, I know interest comes in to play in this but I think I'm getting lost at paying my friend the money that I borrowed plus the interest. Like how do you calculate for this interest? How can I pay-out my friend? Can you use my example to elaborate? I would really appreciate the explanation!
