Why quit your job to be a full time real estate investor?

Can someone please help me understand why anyone would quit their job and pursue real estate investing full time? I genuinely am curious because in order to invest in real estate you need money. I understand there are many ways to get money but why not start a business or get a degree that makes 200,000 + a year and then invest in real estate? If everything is done correctly with enough sacrifice one could be financially free with enough passive income in 10 years to love the dream. Heck even without sacrificing that much you could still invest in real estate and be free in 10 years. What am I missing?

Matthew, you said it well. Have income coming in then get into real estate and when you have properties that can pay you then you can quit. No one is encouraging quitting any job to try and get financial independence through real estate alone. You have to build your RE portfolio before you can think about quitting at all.
