Is Pittsfield, MA a good place to long distance LTR?

Hello All!

I’m looking to get some insight and truth to possibly investing in the area of Pittsfield, MA. My wife has family that lives up here and we visit yearly and I continue noticing a lot of multi family homes in the area.

Her family is telling me that landlords don’t have a lot of say in renting with not being able to evict during the cold months if the tenants have children. I didn’t know if any of you have heard or ran into this?
