Looking on advice In buying my first property in the Houston area.

Recently just got out of the military, and have an ok amount of money saved up to invest with.

Also, am Intrested in advice on purchasing a condo to be used as rental property.

If I had to do it all over again, I would use the VA loan to target multi-family. If you are in a position to live in the property, the VA loan could allow you to enter into multifamily with low money down and additional funds for other investments. Check out this thread for a similar question.
