Loan Requests - Investor or Primary

Hello,

I just spoke to a lender and was advised that because I filled out the application as an investment property, I would have to pay the 20% down instead of 3.5% they could have offered me if it was a Primary Residence property.

Question: When speaking to lenders should I not mention I am an investor and that this would be a Primary Residence ?
