Question about paying low interest debt vs saving for rental

Newbie here. Both my wife and I have steady jobs and extra cash each month. We’ve been aggressively paying off our student loan debt while investing the minimum to get our companies match. We don’t own a home and pay a very reasonable price in rent. We have about 4500 dollars extra each month. Should we save this amount for a few months with the expectation to invest it if opportunity comes (via stocks or rental property) or should we continue on our path of becoming debt free? This question has been eating away at me. Thanks in advance.
