Real Estate investing and being a cop

So I know podcast have been recorded and blogs wrote about how it’s ok to maintain a job and invest at the same time. But do y’all know any full time cops out there who RE invest on the side?

I know that after I retire from the army my heart will want to do LEO work.... it’s obviously a dangerous job but I know my mind will want to continue serving in that capacity.

What would be some unique challenges being a police officer and side RE investor?

I’m a full time LEO and have no issue investing along with my day job.  Treat is a normal job and don’t be consumed by it and you will have plenty of time to spend on investing.  Actually my schedule gives me 3 days off a week to concentrate on family and investing so it is actually better than most jobs can offer me.

I live in Oregon and invest in Indianapolis. After years of hands on investing locally and doing my own remodeling and management I find the long distance approach way easier. I coordinate everything by phone or email and let others do the time consuming stuff.

Don’t let the idea of being an LEO Make you think it’s all you will live and breathe. It’s just a job like any other.  Yes more dangerous but still just a job.  Make sure family is first and your hobbies second.

Good luck with your career and your investing.  Thank you for your military service.
