Real Estate Appraiser

Stephen Sloane
Posted

Hey folks, I just joined today. I've invested in real estate for about 20 years but on a "small potatoes" basis: one five unit property in Downtown Riverside, CA. My question, if I may - I'd like to get into property appraisal, which in CA requires the usual online classes but also about 2000 hours of experience. And that's the problem - getting a qualified appraiser to take you under their wing for those 2000 (probably unpaid) hours before you too can set out into the appraisal world. As most appraisers are 40+ in years, it appears like they don't want any new people to add to their competition. This far, I've not found a way around this; anyone got any ideas?

Best,

Steve Sloane.
