Seeking All Past & Current Appraisers!! Career Change...Thoughts?

Hello BP members,

I have been thinking about switching careers to join the Real Estate World full-time and after some thought and research...I was led down the path to becoming an Appraiser. The potential to essentially work as my own boss, have a flexible schedule, work in or out of the office as needed, and combining my new found passion for real estate with my skills as a numbers guy....it makes sense.

I would love to hear from Appraisers that are currently in the field or who have been in the field in the past. Please share your thoughts and experiences...what is the day-to-day like? How has the field changed post 2008? Etc. Etc. Etc.

Cheers!
